About this Journal

The Skill Network brings together anyone and everyone and their skills to offer. Anyone can offer their services and anyone can request them. Sometimes it's better to get the things you want done from people who love doing them.

Looks like you guys had a similar idea to me a few months before I did...

This is just to let you all know that I created skillshare for a very similar reason to this one and also melb_skillshare for people in Melbourne, Australia...

I think this is a great idea and I'm so glad to see it elsewhere as well... I'm going to add your community to my info page as well.

Off to a great start so far. Skill Network has been online for 3 days and we're up 27 members and currently listing 25 differnt skills ranging from guitar instruction, home care, and writing, to computer Networking, web design and photography. Help spread the word. I'm working on some promo graphics now and will be promoting more the rest of the week.

Thanks to ratfaceiv for the new Skill Network logo you can view on the profile page. If this community proves successful I'd like to make it a full independent website and link people and their skills around the world.

I'm also working on Band Network. I hope that to be up tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep those interested posted.

Thanks for joining and spread the word.

Skills :

Mobile recording studio. That's right, I come to you. I charge $150 for eight hours of recording (that's less than $20 an hour), plus gas money depending on how far from me you are. This makes it extra convenient for bands with a lot of heavy equipment, since the recording happens right in their own practice space. Right now I'm limiting it to Pinellas County, although I am willing to go farther, for a price. Price includes either a Master CD-R sent to your address, or high-quality bitrate MP3's sent to your email within a week of finished recording. A lot can be finished in eight hours, so bands that need a quick, high-quality, cheap demo please come to me.

I'm currently researching, coordinating, and designing a few web projects that I know will be very profitable. I'm looking to put together a team of programmers, designers, and business gurus to help get these projects off the ground. I'm first trying to see if I can put together a team that's willing to work and profit together. I'm not looking to contract anyone out. If you'd like to read more check out http://jdmx.tk/. All websites and web applications must be cross compatible so I'm stearing away from Microsoft technolgy such as VB. See if any projects interest you. The site only lists a few and more will be added later.

I'm also toying with the idea of making some of the projects an open source effort? What's your opinions on that.

Your Skills to Offer : I have extensive knowledge in Windows 2000 Server (MCSA) and Server 2003 as well as with DNS, IIS, FTP, and so forth. I would go with moderate ASP.NET knowledge and could hopefully at least point you in the right direction for the answer if I didn't know it, and also home and professional audio. I've been doing professional audio work for going on 8 years now and naturally home theater has come along with it. I'll answer questions on any of these subjects as best as possible!
